Operation Soldier Care

Organized by eMail Our Military

HELP! ChipIn Widget Stopped Working!
Our ChipIn Widget suddenly stopped working and now says that our project has ended. However, it is just 6:30 PM here est and we had 5 1/2 hours to go until midnight.

We won't let a little widget issue slow us down though. We've sent a trouble ticket to ChipIn and in the meantime, we created a new page to collect the rest of the money needed to meet Operation Soldier Care's goal.

We've only got $2080 to go and just 5 or so hours left! Project ends tonight at MIDNIGHT!

NEW PAGE AT: http://emailourmilitaryholiday.chipin.com/operation-soldier-care-2!

The 11th Hour
Ok, not exactly but there are only 11 hours left for us to get the job done and reach 100% of our goal.

As of 12:15 PM est Operation Soldier Care is at 56% and has received $2811.00 for sun/skin care packages to our troops in the desert.

This isn't about politics. It's about taking care of the service members who volunteered to serve our country unselfishly. That's it. Plain and simple.

Every $1 donated counts toward the purchase of a care package and no amount is too big or too small. So, if you can help please do!

If you can't contribute financially, please consider sharing this page with someone you know, blogging about us, and sharing this information across your social networks.

To make things a little more fun, Mike Neumann has made a date with a hair clipper and some Hooters girls if we can meet and exceed our goal by midnight tonight. (Read below)

Finally, don't forget you can always correspond with a service member on a one-on-one basis or send a one time message of support through eMail Our Military!

America Goes Bald for eMail Our Military & Operation Soldier Care
It started with Rob La Gesse (@Kr8tr on twitter) then Todd Jordan (@Tojosan) stepped up to the plate. Now, Mike Neumann (@MikeNeumann) is joining in to help us surpass our goal for Operation Soldier Care so we can get skin/sun care packages to our troops.

Mike Neumann officially announced that if we can meet and surpass our goal of $5,000 he'll not only shave his head, he'll do it at Hooters!

Trust me, this is something you won't want to miss.

We've raised $2746 and are at the 54% mark. We only need $2254 to meet our goal. That's just 46% more. We're more than half way there. The hard part is over and I know we can do it with your help.

Half Way There, Half to Go
We're a little more than half way to our goal for Operation Soldier Care. We've raised $2,696.00 and hit the 53% mark in our campaign to get sun/skin care packages to our active duty troops in the desert.

We're extremely pleased with how far we've come for this project and how many military service members will benefit from the care packages we'll be sending to them.

We're not done yet though! Monday the 18th (Tomorrow) is the final day to hit the 5k mark. That doesn't leave us much time to get it all done.

If you can help, please do. Every $1 counts toward the purchase of a care package and no amount is too big or too small.

The Bald and the Beautiful
@Tojosan threw out the challenge and put his hair on the table. He said that if we could raise $150 in donations for Operation Soldier Care he'd shave the beard he's had for 13 years. Then he said if we could raise $150 more (for a total of $300) he'd shave his head for Operation Soldier Care.

With just 5 minutes left on the clock before the offer expired last night, Operation Soldier Care not only received an additional $300 thanks to @Tojosan's challenge but we went over and above it by receiving a total of $586!

We know that none of it could have been possible without all the great supporters our service members have on twitter, facebook and all the other social media sites eMOM is a part of.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Now, let's see the links to those videos of @Tojosan:

Here he tells us that soon he'll be a bald, bald man: http://12seconds.tv/channel/tojosan/15907

Stay tuned!

Tojosan Ready to Go Bald for the Troops!
Twitter's @Tojosan offers to get bald and beautiful for $300 in donations to Operation Soldier Care.

So far, $211 has been added to the chipin widget since he offered the challenge and there's just $89 more needed.

You certainly don't have to add the total amount but all monies donated will help to get us that much closer to shaving @Tojosan bald and buy that many more care packages for our troops serving in the desert heat.

Rumor has it he's already completed a video showing himself BEARDLESS!

Thanks and spread the word! Read more at: http://emailourmilitary.blogspot.com/2008/08/final-weekend-to-help-get-packages-to.html

Final Weekend to Help Get Care Packages to our Military
This is our final weekend to make it happen for Operation Soldier Care, our project to send Mary Kay sun/skin care packages to our troops battling the desert heat. Our project ends Monday the 18th.
We have reached higher than we ever thought possible. As of this writing, we've currently raised $1960.00 for the care package project which is the eqivalent of making it 39% of the way toward our goal. We'd love to make it all the way. However, we can't do it alone. If you could take some time and help us spread the word we believe it will make all the difference.

Please share the link to this blog post across your social networks, feel free to copy this post and use it as a guest post on your own blog, even send an email to your friends and family letting them know about Operation Soldier Care.

Finally, we ask that if you are in a position to share a few dollars toward supporting our troops that you take a moment to do that. We can tell you from our own experiences as sons, daughters, husbands, wives and friends of our military services members - care packages are especially appreciated.

Operation Soldier Care Gets a Matching Sponsor
August is in full force through the U.S. with record heat waves keeping people inside in front of their air conditioners.

Imagine, then, how hot and uncomfortable U.S. men and women serving in Iraq and Afghanistan must be! And also imagine how nice it would be for them to receive sun/skin care products that can make their lives a tad easier.

Thanks to Trish Forant of www.eMailOurMilitary.com and Nancy Sutherland, sales director of Mary Kay, OPERATION SOLDIER CARE is providing sun/skin care products to deployed service members to help relieve the ravages of a desert combat tour.

What started as a smaller project has now grown to a larger one due to Nancyâ??s offer to match all monies up to $5,000. This is, in effect, a 2-for-1 offer where every purchased Mary Kay gift set results in Nancy buying a matching second gift set.

You can use our ChipIn widget to add your dollars to the project or if you prefer you can purchase the gift sets from Nancy's site directly.

To purchase sets, click on this link to visit Nancyâ??s "Mary Kay Website" to buy the gift sets of satin hand pampering -- http://tinyurl.com/5dmwq4. After putting in the number of sets, put OPERATION SOLDIER CARE in the comment section at checkout and your gifts will be sent directly to our troops.

Itâ??s that easy! So click on http://tinyurl.com/5dmwq4 now because this troop support project ends August 18.

To encourage you to buy multiple gift sets, the top five individual donors with the largest contributions will receive a copy of the new book MRS. LIEUTENANT: A SHARON GOLD NOVEL by Phyllis Zimbler Miller and an eMail Our Military 15-oz. ceramic coffee mug. (If you'd like to donate gifts and prizes, let us know!)

Why not consider this as a great summer project for girl or boy scouts or summer camps to pitch in to help our troops? Letâ??s show them we care!

The Operation Soldier Care Team

We're Reaching For The Stars!
Nancy Sutherland has outdone herself! She always stated she'd match every care package purchased with an indentical package - to double the support to our troops. Now, Nancy is raising the bar and reaching for the stars by announcing that she'd like to see $5,000 worth of sun/skin care packages purchased for our troops. That's right, if we can can $5k purchased she'll add another 5k in sun/skin care products for our troops.

Join in and help us reach this goal and stay tuned for more announcements.
